Does Florida humidity affect sealing?
It affects application. Sealer needs a dry surface and time to cure, and a humid kitchen slows both. Seal with the AC running and the surface fully dry, and give it the long end of the label's cure time. The seal itself, once cured, doesn't care about humidity.

Does salt air hurt stone counters?
Salt air leaves a film on everything, including counters near open doors and lanais. It's not damage, but it dries into a haze and holds moisture. Wipe and dry more often than you would inland. Sealing doesn't stop salt film; a cloth does.

How do I take care of outdoor kitchen granite?
Seal it and water-test it more often than indoor stone. Wipe grill grease the same day, keep lime and marinades off it, and cover the top when it sits unused. Quartz doesn't belong outdoors; it yellows in sun.

I'm leaving for the summer. Anything I should do to the counters?
Clean and dry them, take everything off them, and leave the AC running. A closed, humid house grows mildew on bathroom stone and lets any residue sit for months. Nothing on the counters means nothing to stain or etch while you're gone.

Rainwater on stone is fine; dry it. Standing water for days can push past the seal and leave mineral rings. Floodwater is a different problem; it carries whatever it picked up, and light stone can stain. Dry everything as soon as you're back in.

Hard water. Every drop that dries leaves minerals behind, and on dark stone that's a white ring within a day. Dry the counter after every wipe-down. Spots that are already there come off with a stone-safe cleaner and a dry buff; never vinegar or CLR on stone.

Rinse with fresh water right away and dry. Chlorine and pool acid are exactly what stone doesn't want; on marble the acid etches instantly, on granite it strips sealer. Any dull patch left on marble is re-polished. Store the chemicals somewhere that isn't the outdoor kitchen.

Sunscreen and bug spray on the counter.
Sunscreen is oil and pigment; it gets into unsealed stone. Bug spray with DEET damages plastics and resin, which means it marks quartz. Wipe both up with dish soap right away. A tray by the lanai door for the bottles.
